Cities Skylines 2 DLC has been delayed again

Cities Skylines 2 DLC has been delayed again, developer Colossal Order has announced.

In a blog post, the studio said it was pushing back the release of two Creator Packs (Modern Architecture and Urban Promenades) and the game’s Bridges & Ports expansion.

“While the Economy Patch, Detailers Patch, and Decorations Patch are all part of our commitment to improving the base game, we are well aware that the Asset Editor is one of the most crucial remaining features in fulfilling our promise to make mods fully available in-game,” it wrote.

“To ensure we don’t split our focus, we’ve made the decision to push the release of the Creator Packs to Q4. This will also affect the upcoming release of Bridges & Ports Expansion that will instead come in Q2 2025.”

It’s been a difficult year for Cities Skylines 2 publisher Paradox Interactive. In April, it announced that customers who purchased the game’s first DLC would be refunded, with the content set to be added to the base game for free after being “rushed out” in an unsatisfactory state.

Future paid DLC, and the game’s console version, were also delayed again.

Then in June, Paradox announced plans to close its Tectonic studio following the cancellation of life simulation game Life by You.

In July, Cities Skylines 2’s console version was delayed again, this time indefinitely.

“Regarding the console version of Cities: Skylines II, we don’t have any news beyond what we shared last time,” Colossal Order said this week. “We continue to work on it and will share an updated release window as soon as we have one.”

Last month, Paradox’s Prison Architect 2 was also delayed indefinitely, just one month before the game was due to be released.

It also delayed the release of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 from this year to the first half of 2025.
