Civilization 7 Has Four Editions To Choose From, Preorders Live Now
It’s been nearly eight years since the launch of Civilization 6, and now–thanks to Gamescom Opening Night Live–we have an official release date for Sid Meier’s Civilization 7. The long-awaited strategy game arrives on February 11, 2025 for PC, Xbox, PS5, and Switch, with select versions offering early access on February 6. Four different versions are up for preorder, including the Collector’s Edition loaded with physical goodies. If you favor physical media, you’ll definitely want to take a look at the Deluxe Edition, which comes with a bunch of post-launch DLC.
And if you want to learn more before placing your preorder, read our Civilization 7 hands-on preview for an in-depth look at the long-awaited 4X strategy sequel.
Here’s a closer look at all Civilization 7 preorders, plus any preorder bonuses that come with your purchase. And if February sounds far away, you can pass some of the time by reading Sid Meier’s Memoir: A Life in Computer Games. Published in 2020, this superb book takes you inside the mind of one of the most influential game developers. You can purchase a hardcover copy for $20.80 (was $28) or paperback for $15.26 (was $17).
Civilization 7 Preorder Bonuses
If you preorder Civilization 7 standard edition, you’ll get the Tecumseh and Shawnee Pack, which is otherwise limited to the deluxe and founder’s editions. We might see retailer-specific bonuses announced in the coming weeks, but for now, this is the only bonus. Be sure to check back frequently, as we’ll update this article when any new bonuses are revealed.
$60-$70
This version of Civilization 7 gets you the base game and preorder bonuses outlined above. The game is listed for $60 on Switch, while it’s $70 on PS5, Xbox, and PC. The digital edition is cross-gen for PS5 and PS4 or Series X|S and Xbox One. Like many other physical games, the Xbox disc grants dual entitlement for both console generations, whereas the physical PlayStation edition is only available for PlayStation 5.
$90-$100
Civilization 7’s Deluxe Edition gets you the base game and five-day early access starting February 6. You’ll also get the preorder following in-game content.
- Crossroads of the World Collection:
- 2 new leaders
- 4 new civilizations
- 4 new wonders
- Special cosmetic bonus
- More TBA post-launch DLC
- Deluxe Content Pack:
- 2 leader personas
- 4 profile customizations
- 1 alternate scout skin
- Tecumseh and Shawnee Pack (preorder bonus)
The Civilization series is known for its ample post-launch DLC that adds meaningful new additions to the game, so Civ 7’s Deluxe Edition is more intriguing than the average deluxe edition.
The Deluxe Edition costs $90 on Switch and $100 on PS5, Xbox, and PC.
$130
If you want tons of in-game content, the expensive founders edition is worth considering. It’s $120 on Switch and $130 on PS5, Xbox, and PC, but it gets you the following:
- Tecumseh and Shawnee Pack
- Crossroads of the World Collection
- Deluxe Content Pack
- Right to Rule Collection (Includes six DLC packs that will arrive by September 2025)
- Founders Content Pack
- 2 leader personas
- 4 profile customizations
- 1 fog of war tile set
- 1 Founders palace skin
Note that this is a digital-only edition and is only available until February 28.
