Common Ubisoft L or W? Assassin’s Creed Shadows Has a Unique System That Lets Players Purchase Safehouses
Ubisoft’s highly-anticipated Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been delayed once again, but it seems like the studio needs more time to implement additional changes to give players an exceptional gaming experience. To create more anticipation for the game, Ubisoft recently shared more information about the game’s open world.
Ubisoft also revealed that the game will feature unique safehouses that will be extensions of the traditional hideouts. These safehouses will be different as they will offer more practical functionalities. These safehouses will typically be out of the enemy territory and will serve as a spot for players to rest and gather resources. It seems like Ubisoft is trying to keep the game’s anticipation alive by revealing more information about the game’s unique open world.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows will feature unique safehouses
In an official blog post, Ubisoft has revealed some more information about the massive open world of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The studios revealed that the map will feature different regions and each region will reveal safehouses called “kakurega” that can be acquired. This is like a property that players can purchase apart from their hideout. Once acquired, this safehouse will become a small extension of the Hideout.
This safehouse will allow players to refill rations/tools/ammunition, access gear stash, manage and accept contracts, and replenish scouts as well as manage allies that can be summoned for help. Not only all this, these kakuregas will also become Fast Travel points which are “safe” since they will be outside the enemy’s territory.
Viewpoints/Synchronization points are returning and will also serve as Fast Travel points, however, they could be deep inside the enemy territory as well, so players must plan their attacks accordingly.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be released on 20th March, 2025
Many industry insiders have claimed that Ubisoft is struggling to keep up with the competition. Despite having some of the best video game franchises under its belt, its games are struggling to meet sales expectations. Assassin’s Creed Shadows is an important game for Ubisoft that could possibly determine the future of the company. The game was initially delayed for further polishing, however, Ubisoft has delayed it again, setting 20th March 2024 as its new release date.
The game has also been in the spotlight for its controversies. Upon the release of the game’s premiere trailer in May 2024, Ubisoft was criticized for the depiction of Yasuke in the game. Many accused Ubisoft of “going woke,” but the company has always defended the character.
Despite all the controversies, the hype for the game is still at an all-time high. The game is set in 16th-century Japan towards the end of the Sengoku period and will allow players to explore the world from the eyes of two protagonists: Naoe, a female shinobi, and Yasuke, a character inspired by the real African samurai.
