Construction to begin soon for Buc-ee’s, a ‘Disneyland’ on I-40
FAYETTE COUNTY, Tenn. — A brand new Buc-ee’s is on the way to the Mid-South and with it comes 250 new jobs and millions of dollars of investment into Fayette County.
“We are ready to get the ball rolling,” said Fayette County Mayor Skip Taylor.
At exit 28 on I-40, an area will be transformed into a place for fuel, fun and food after a final vote Monday at Fayetteville County’s industrial development board meeting.
“This is a Disneyland of sorts on I-40,” Taylor said. “So, this will be a destination location which we are very proud of.”

Now that the project agreement, taxes and loan agreement for the new Buc-ees have been finalized, construction can begin.
“They are the lender and the developer, so they will lend the funds,” Buc-ee’s rep Mark Mamantov said.
Mayor Taylor said this new development could bring about five million people to the area in a year, plus more.
“If you take one percent who want to spend the night, you have enough for a couple of hotels,” Taylor said. “The restaurants and other retail establishments.”
Construction is set to be completed in 2027.
