Daughter texted for help before Bushey crossbow deaths

A mother was stabbed to death and her two daughters killed by crossbow bolt injuries at their home, an inquest has heard.

Carol Hunt, 61, and her daughters Hannah, 28, and Louise, 25, died in the attack in Ashlyn Close, Bushey, Hertfordshire, just before 19:00 BST on 9 July.

The inquests into their deaths has been opened and adjourned at Hertfordshire Coroner’s Court in Hatfield.

Kyle Clifford, 26, was found injured just under 24 hours later in Enfield, north London and was arrested on 11 July on suspicion of three counts of murder.

Senior coroner Geoffrey Sullivan was told that Hannah Hunt texted an unnamed member of the public saying she had been “tied up”, asking them to call the police and that the person responsible was still in the house.

Ms Hunt was then able to call the police, reporting that she had been shot, as had her mother and sister.

She gave her address before the call cut out, the hearing was told.

When officers arrived they found her alive in the main doorway of the home with a crossbow bolt still in her chest, the inquest heard.
