Deadlock’s Hilarious Anti-Cheat Update Is Also a Massive Slap to CS2 Players

Right now the gaming world is hyped up with Deadlock. As of now, the game is testing phase and is only playable by getting a playtester invite. However, there is no specific release date has been confirmed by Valve yet. Still, it doesn’t stop fans from anticipating the title.

This action-adventure game combines the elements of a hero shooter and a MOBA title. Despite being in the playtesting phase since 2023, the game had reached over 100,000 concurrent players in May 2024. There is no in-game content available on the internet or on streams officially, but there is a massive update that has taken the anticipation to a whole new level. And the anti-cheat system in the game is literally crazy.

Deadlock‘s Anti-Cheat System Is Hilarious

The anti-cheat system is one of the most important aspects of a video game nowadays. Amidst the nuisance of hackers and cheaters, many gaming franchises have opted for these kinds of software, like Riot Vanguard in Valorant.

However, Deadlock, too, faced the wrath of the hackers, and that too in just its playtesting phase. That is why Valve has come up with a brilliant and crazy anti-cheat system in the hero shooter through the recent update. In this system, if a player catches a cheater using cheats, he can ban the match immediately and end the match in his favor.

Now the hilarious part is that the player will have another choice where he can turn the cheater into a frog for the rest of the match and then eventually ban him after the match is finished. If the cheater is found in the middle of the match, then the rest of the game will not be counted for both players.

Co-incidentally this update drops exactly at the time of the first anniversary of Counter-Strike 2. This anti-cheat system is also a tight slap to CS as the game has been facing issues with cheaters and hackers for eternity. Surprisingly, being such a huge game, this Valve title hasn’t yet got any feasible solution to tackle the cheaters, whereas its Valve counterpart has already brought an innovative way to punish them.

What Else the Players Are Getting in This New Update in Deadlock?

Along with that crazy anti-cheat feature, fans will be getting some really good new updates as well. First up, a new character named Mirage has entered into the roster of the game. However, there is no update about its abilities that has been shared by Valve yet.

Custom Match play mode is also added, where you can make Private lobbies with your friends for that extra 1v1 kick. Not only that, you will be able to choose specific servers while playing in the Private lobby. You can also make the match publicly visible or private only to the players, at your convenience.

The new anti-cheat system in the game is making fans frenzy. As of now, the game is in the playtesting phase, but imagine what will happen when the game is out for the public. I bet no one is going to just ban the players instead of turning them into frogs. What’s your opinion on this hilarious feature in Deadlock? Let us know your opinions in the comment section.
