Deadpool and Wolverine heading to Disney Plus

The hit Marvel Studios summer movie Deadpool & Wolverine has finally had its Disney Plus streaming date announced, and that day is just around the corner.

Over three months since the movie’s July 26 theatrical release, Marvel announced that Deadpool and Wolverine will finally head to Disney’s streaming service on Tuesday, November 12, according to IGN. Not only has the superhero movie starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman respectively already been made available for digital on October 1 and for DVD/Blu-Ray on October 22 (via Marvel) but the Disney streaming announcement was paired with promotions involving remodeling sports arena restrooms after the hero duo. These were done at NBA and NHL games in Philadelphia, Memphis, and Columbus last Wednesday October 30.

For the Disney Plus release, fans can expect it to be accompanied with commentary by Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy that can be be listened to while watching the full movie. Film commentaries are usually included in the bonus features for home movie releases, making this inclusion for the Disney streaming release something that will hopefully delight fans.

Deadpool and Wolverine has been this year’s only release for the MCU, and Forbes points out that this fact didn’t stop the movie from making over $1.33 billion in the box office. These earnings made the 2024 MCU title the 7th-highest grossing movie in the film franchise so far, ahead of Iron Man 3 but behind the Avengers saga.

Parents may like to keep the film’s R rating in mind for when streaming day arrives so they can turn on Disney Plus’s parental controls before kids watch. Otherwise, the film’s Disney Plus streaming premiere is also coming in time for the holiday season.

Deadpool and Wolverine hits Disney Plus on November 12.
