Despite the Popularity, Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix is Missing One Key Feature That Made XP Grinds Bearable

After the release of Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix, some fans have noticed that XP coins previously found around the map are missing in the current game mode. These Coins were used to offer fruitful ways to grind for experience in past seasons of the game. 

Fortnite has grown over time, introducing multiple new weapons and items. Classic weapons, equipment, and areas of significance have returned in Fortnite OG and the current Chapter 2 Remix. Classic tasks have also reappeared, such as traversing the map for gnome statues and hitting weak points with the melee pickaxe. But one activity, which a lot of fans did miss was hunting for XP coins. These XP coins were placed in significant locations around the map of Fortnite Chapter 2.

This missing XP Coin feature was posted on Reddit by user Drex678. While lamenting its lack in the current season, he posted a picture of a green XP Coin from Fortnite Chapter 2. Although the Reddit poster asserted that the missing XP Coins during the Chapter 2 Remix went unnoticed, other responses seem to suggest differently.

The XP Coins in Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix rank in rarity, from the Green ones which reward the least XP while the orange ones reward the most. The goal for the Chapter 2 players was to collect them all, as it helps to complete a specific Battle Pass challenge, and with that, these coins also help to collect a massive amount of XP.

It can occasionally be difficult to find these XP coins, which are scattered throughout the landscape from open areas to well-known points of importance. Players might come across random engagements or encounter third parties there.

Why is the XP Coin needed to make grinding bearable?

As Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix is shorter in duration than the other seasons, Epic Games won’t be able to add the OG Fortnite content drops from Chapter 2. Some OG fans think Chapter 2 content like Fireflies, XP Coins, UFOs, and points of interest like Stealthy Stronghold and Colossal Coliseum might not even get the chance to return to this current Remix season.

As these XP Coins are currently missing from the Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix, fans realize how much they miss collecting these coins. The XP Coins back in the OG season were used to help the player’s farm experience at a lot faster rate, it also helped the fans complete the Battle Pass which used to have 100 levels. However, as the current Remix season only has 50 levels, having the Coins will only make the Battle Pass grind easier for the fans. This is a viable reason why Epic Games might not have added the Coins back.

According to Epic Games, Fortnite OG will be a permanent mode, which will cycle through each Chapter of season 1, which includes all OG guns and items. This hints that once OG mode has completed Chapter 1, it might proceed to Chapter 2 with all the OG content.
