Destiny 2’s Bungie’s Layoffs Come With a Surprising Piece of Potential Good News, as a New Game is Confirmed to be in Development

In a statement released on Bungie’s official website earlier today, CEO Pete Parsons shared the heartbreaking news that the studio behind Destiny 2 and the upcoming extraction shooter Marathon will be laying off roughly 17% of its workforce, affecting over 220 developers.

We are working with PlayStation Studios leadership to spin out one of our incubation projects – an action game set in a brand-new science-fantasy universe – to form a new studio within PlayStation Studios to continue its promising development.
