Did the PlayStation Network Going Down Play a Role in Latest Helldivers 2 Campaign?

The Helldivers 2 community is determined to take control of Shelt planet in the Talus Sector, however, the PlayStation Network going down made things quite difficult for them. With PlayStation 5 players offline, PC players struggled to liberate the planet as the clock was ticking but the rapid advancements in the liberation process have surprised everyone.

The global outage impacted multiple consoles, including the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PS Vita, and even older devices like the PlayStation 3. Players were unable to play all the games that required an internet connection. The outage indeed slowed down the community but they are once again back on track.

PlayStation Network Going Down Affected The Liberation Of Shelt

The Helldivers 2 community has asked everyone to focus on the liberation of planet Shelt of the Talus Sector as taking Shelt from Automaton will entirely stop the invasion on Mastia. Players have been studying the supply lines and this is probably the best way to save Mastia from the Automaton invasion, however, the efforts were affected by the PlayStation Network outage.

It was reported that Sony’s PlayStation Network was down and as a result, PlayStation 5 players couldn’t play Helldivers 2. PC players had to fight on Shelt all alone. With the problem now solved, PlayStation players are doing their best to assist PC players. At the time of writing, Shelt has been 83% liberated, thanks to the community’s efforts.

Despite the setback, the Helldivers 2 community has made a lot of progress, in fact, some players are shocked to see how much progress has been made. There are some speculations that Game Master Joel provided some aid to the community to compensate for the unexpected PlayStation Network outage.

Whatever the case may be, it’s clear that Helldivers will soon take control of Shelt, preventing the Mastia invasion. As for the Major Order, Super Earth has ordered the community to take control of Turing when the time runs out. As of now, the planet is under Super Earth’s control. A few weeks ago, completing Major Orders was not an easy task as Helldivers 2 was losing players at an alarming rate, but thanks to Arrowhead’s efforts, the game is popular again.

In the recent 1.001.100 patch, Arrowhead improved Helldivers 2 significantly. As the game was slowly becoming irrelevant, the studio decided to change its approach. Arrowhead is now focusing more on players’ feedback to improve the game. Weapons, Stratagems, and gameplay elements, almost everything was reworked and in the future, Arrowhead has promised to do more.
