Donald-Aurora Interchange ramps to close for construction on I-5

Off and on ramps at the Donald-Aurora Interchange, Exit 278, of Interstate 5 will be closed for a week at a time through the rest of the month as part of the construction project.

The northbound on-ramp will be closed from Aug. 7 to Aug. 14.

The southbound off-ramp will be closed from Aug. 14 to Aug. 21.

The southbound on-ramp will be closed from Aug. 21 to Aug. 28.

The ramps are being lengthened and widened.

The northbound off-ramp was lengthened and widened in the first phase of the project in 2022.

The $62.5 million construction project at the Donald-Aurora Interchange has been underway since 2021, but this phase of the project started construction this year.

The project is expected to be completed in 2027.

Up to two lanes of Interstate 5 are being closed from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays. One lane will be closed on other roads in the area from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Other work that is being done as part of this phase of construction includes replacing the Interstate 5 bridges over Ehlen Road, widening Ehlen Road to two lanes in each direction under the Interstate 5 bridge, relocating the Ehlen Road and Bents Road intersection and relocating the Ehlen Road and Delores Way intersection.
