Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero – How to Win Impact Clashes

Impact clashes are fun in Budokai Tenkaichi games and the latest in the series has upped this game. It is important to know how to win impact clashes if you are playing Sparking Zero. So get along, as we will be breaking them down in this guide.

There are four different impacts in the Bandai Namco game, namely Speed Impact, Power Impact, Crash Impact, and Blast Impact. As much as they are spellbinding, they can be a herculean task to master. Clapping requires both hands, which is also the case with Impacts. You’ll see it below.

How to Win a Speed Impact in Sparking Zero?

Gogeta and Vegeta are about to enter a Speed Impact.
The users can trigger a Speed Impact by using a Dragon Dash.

Speed Impact occurs using the Dragon Dash in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero. But remember that the opponent must be dashing too. As soon as they enter a Speed Impact, users will have to be ready for tapping the square button that appears on the screen.

They’ll notice a ring closing in that square button so they need to make sure the button is tapped before it breaks the button. Also, the farther the ring, the lesser the impact; the closer the ring, the heavier the impact. Also, the speed of ring closing will get faster so time well.

Now this is the first step; the next will be to enter the fight and this is when the users will have to tap the square button repeatedly, or spin the analog sticks quickly in case of classic controls, until one of the fighters is down.

There’s also a ‘Boost’ button, which players can take advantage of, but their energy will be drained following the clash. It can be activated using R2 in standard controls or by L2 in classic controls.

How to Win a Power Impact in Sparking Zero?

Gohan and Trunks in a Power Impact as can be seen in Sparking Zero.
The users will have to look at their timing in Power Impact.

This impact looks similar to that of the grab that Frieza and Vegeta did on Planet Namek. This is triggered when the opponents uses the grab at the same time. All users have to do is look for the spiral gauge.

Tip

Use Future Gohan in case you are seeking dominance in Power Impacts

Upon entering, the gauge will start filling when the square button is pressed. There’s a gold line indicating the limit for power to be filled; users need to make sure they don’t touch it. To increase the limit, press R2 for a boost; that’ll do it.

How to Win a Crash Impact in Sparking Zero?

Gogeta and Vegeto enters a Crash Impact.
Users will enter a Crash Impact upon stepping into each other.

To enter a Crash Impact, both opponents are required to step into each other. This is one confusing Impact so watch closely how you can dominate the battle with this one. But better to avoid getting hit to make things more interesting.

Press the x button to enter the Crash Impact with the opponent. This is sort of a QuickTime event. With every impact, players will have to time and tap that square button as it appears on the screen. Just try doing it before the button breaks.

How to Win a Blast Impact in Sparking Zero?

Gohan and Piccolo as seen in a Beam Struggle/Blast Impact.
Beam struggles are one of the most sought after features in the entire Budokai Tenkaichi series.

Beam Struggle or Blast Impact is triggered when both the opponents use one of the major energy attacks like Kamehameha or Special Beam Cannon in the game. It begins as soon as the beam clashes.

A power bar will appear and the users are prompted to tap the triangle or assigned button as the bar fills. Try tapping the button when it is close to the edge. It’s kind of filling sand in a bag three or four times; the one with more sand in a bag wins.

If you don’t want to enter a Beam Clash, you can try deflecting it the other way in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero. So here’s everything you need to know about how to win Impact Clashes in the game.
