Elden Ring’s Latest Patch Does Everything to Help Players ‘Git Gud’, But It’s Not Enough for Some

Elden Ring has been in the spotlight since its release in 2022. However, the difficulty of the bosses, which takes after the other FromSoftware titles released in the past has sparked a debate within the community since then.

The recent launch of the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC for the game does not help either, as the introduction of newer and tougher bosses such as Promised Consort Radahn has overwhelmed any player daring to step into the Realm of Shadow, even after the recent patch update that brings a buff to many items.

New Elden Ring Patch Note Solves the Game’s Issues in a Unique Way

The absence of a difficulty toggle in all the games made by Hidetaka Miyazaki has been an interesting case study ever since the release of Demon’s Souls in 2009. The tradition follows through in his latest game and its DLC, something which fans are not happy about.

The release of Elden Ring V1.13 shatters the dreams of many players who were looking forward to FromSoftware stepping up and doing something about the difficulty of the new bosses, which many believe was taken too far this time around.

It is important to note how the developers have taken the initiative to make the fights against some of the toughest bosses in the game easier, just not in a way that every player had in mind.

Going over the latest patch notes, one of the many things that catches the eye of the reader is how nearly every single summon in the game has been buffed, excluding Mimic Tear. The most common buff between these summons, apart from specific upgrades, is that they are now more resistant to stun damage.

Additionally, a lot of incantations in the game have received a major buff too, including the Minor Erdtree incantations, which now deal with more recovery of the player’s HP than before.

While this is not how players expected the studio to deal with the toughness of new bosses, it ultimately helps promote a more diverse use of items made available in the game, allowing the player to not only face the new enemies of the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC but any boss they dare to face in Elden Ring as a whole.
