The warning, which will be in effect from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., predicts high winds and low humidity in leeward areas across all Hawaiian Islands, creating favorable conditions for wildfires.

The proclamation, signed at 6:18 p.m., allows for the rapid deployment of resources to mitigate wildfire risks and urges the public to take precautions to prevent fires.

Authorities advised against activities that could spark flames, including open fires, campfires, grilling, and the use of power tools that may produce sparks.

Residents are also warned not to park or idle vehicles on dry grass.

“Conditions are ideal for fires to start and spread quickly,” the proclamation said, urging citizens to stay informed and cautious during the warning period.

Local counties may also have additional restrictions or bans on certain activities, and residents are encouraged to check with local fire departments for further guidance.

The proclamation suspends certain laws to expedite emergency operations and provide necessary resources more swiftly.
