Everything Shown From Surprises to the Most Obvious Inclusions
Ubisoft Forward 2024 brought a ton of reveals, updates, and a few surprises that kept fans on the edge of their seats. From the highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed Shadows to unexpected new DLC updates, the showcase had a lot to offer.
Some feel like Ubisoft may finally be finding its footing, while others aren’t too excited about what was shown. Anyhow, let’s recap some of the biggest inclusions.
Some Big Names and Other Expected Reveals at Ubisoft Forward 2024
As usual, Ubisoft didn’t disappoint with its lineup of major titles. We got extended gameplay reveals, interviews, and deep dives for two of their biggest 2024 games, Star Wars Outlaws and Assassin’s Creed Shadows. There were also a few nice DLC surprises for their existing games.
Star Wars Outlaws
It is probably the most anticipated Ubisoft game for this year. The presentation included a deep dive into the game’s storyline, characters, and the expansive galaxy players will get to explore. Fans got a taste of space battles, exploration, and gameplay options that will shape their journey.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows
This upcoming installment, set in feudal Japan, promises to blend the series’ signature stealth mechanics with an immersive historical setting.
Ubisoft shared a detailed gameplay trailer, highlighting the stunning landscapes and intricate combat systems that fans have come to expect.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage on iOS
The mobile version of the latest game in the franchise brings the action to iPhones and iPads. Details are scarce, but expect a tailored Assassin’s Creed experience for iOS, with HDR support and cross-saves.
For Honor: Year 8 Season 2
The long-running medieval combat game For Honor gets another season of content, likely featuring new maps, heroes, and gameplay tweaks. Titled Murasama Blade, it starts June 13.
Monopoly
Certainly one of the more unexpected reveals, Monopoly is getting a brand new makeover, and from what Ubisoft has shown, it looks like it’ll be a fun rehash of the classic board game.
XDefiant: Season One
Ubisoft’s new free-to-play shooter, XDefiant, kicks off its first season on July 2, offering players a chance to dive into the fast-paced combat with three new guns and maps.
Skull and Bones: Seasons Content Update
The pirate adventure game Skull and Bones gets a glimpse into its post-launch content plans, with new activities and challenges. Season 3 of the game is titled Into the Dragon’s Wake, and will feature a 5v5 PvP mode.
Prince of Persia The Lost Crown Story DLC Teaser
The Mask of Darkness update for The Lost Crown will release in September. The DLC will bring new combat and puzzle challenges, alongside new amulets and outfits.
The Rogue Prince of Persia Update Trailer
This update trailer showcases new content and features for The Rogue Prince of Persia. It will contain a new biome to explore, as well as new mobs and weapons.
Prince of Persia The Sands of Time Release Year Teaser
A long-awaited remake of the classic Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time gets a tease, revealing a 2026 release date. No new gameplay was shown.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Story DLC Trailer
The immersive world of Pandora in Ubisoft’s Avatar game expands with a story DLC teaser, hinting at a new adventures for players, releasing on July 16th.
The Crew: Motorfest Chase Squad Trailer
The Crew Motorfest, the latest entry in the open-world racing series, gets a trailer, announcing that Year 2 begins in November 2024. It will feature a new island, and a few new cars.
Anno 117: Pax Romana Trailer
The upcoming city-building strategy game, Anno 117: Pax Romana, gets a live-action trailer, giving players a look at the Roman-inspired world they’ll be building in. It will be released in 2025.
The Division 2: Year 6 Season 1 Launch Trailer
The Division 2, the post-apocalyptic shooter, gets a new season of content with its Year 6 Season 1 launch trailer.
All owners of the game will now be able to level up till level 40, without needing to own the Warlords of New York DLC.
That sums up this year’s Ubisoft Forward. With new games, DLC packs, and other free content updates, fans will have something to look forward to this year and the next.
Ultimately, many fans came out of Ubisoft Forward not absolutely loving what Ubisoft showcased. Some still feel indifferent to games like Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and while The Sands of Time remake did get more information revealed, it still wasn’t enough to win the fans over.
