Expect delays on I-195 from Swansea to New Bedford this week. Here’s why and what to know.
Be prepared for delays when traveling on Interstate 195 this week. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation will be conducting ancillary structure inspections from Swansea to New Bedford.
Lane closures will be in place for both eastbound and westbound traffic from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23, and Friday, Jan. 24.
According to the MassDOT, one lane of travel will be maintained at all times, with police assisting in traffic control and safety.
Traffic alteration may be in place as needed including lane and shoulder closures. Appropriate signage will guide drivers through the work area.
Drivers should plan for extra travel time and expect delays and reduced speeds due to the changes in traffic patterns.
