Extrication required after car crash in Shelton
SHELTON, Conn. (WTNH) — The doors and roof of a vehicle had to be removed to free a trapped passenger who crashed Saturday night in Shelton.
The Shelton Fire Department was called to Federal Rd. and Sorell Dr., where they witnessed the aftermath of a car striking a tree.

Firefighters worked to stabilize the vehicle before extricating the sole occupant. The two passenger doors and roof of the car were removed using hydraulic tools.
Fifteen firefighters worked for 20 minutes to extricate the victim, who was transported to a trauma facility.
The extent of the victim’s injuries is unknown.
