Fallout 76 Leak Reveals Game Is Probably Getting A Highly Requested Feature
There is one thing Fallout 76 has been missing from the get-go: exploring the wasteland with Dogmeat. But that might be remedied in the future thanks to a recent datamine of the game.
According to Windows Central, a dataminer called SugarBombsRADS shared on the Fallout 76 Datamining Discord community info on a new pets companion system, including a tutorial image featuring a dog and cat. While there is rudimentary pet taming in Fallout 76, this revamped edition seems more in line with what franchise players expect.
Back in 2021, a Fallout 76 roadmap teased CAMP pets, though this feature never launched in the game. Last month, Fallout 76 received a huge Skyline Valley expansion, bringing a new area and questline to the online RPG. Skyline Valley is a first for Fallout 76, since it actually expands the map of the game. The area is based on Shenandoah National Park in Virginia.
There has been renewed interest in Fallout 76 ever since the Fallout TV show premiered on Prime Video. In fact, Fallout 76 had over 1 million players in one day in April.
Looking ahead, Fallout 76 will finally let players become a Ghoul in 2025. Choosing to do so will reportedly open up “a lot of opportunities” in the online RPG, per Bethesda. The wasteland will react differently to Ghouls, as well as the character having a “natural resistance to radiation.”
