In an interview, Saber Interactive’s Chief Creative Officer, Tim Willits, opened up about the development of Space Marine 2. While going in-depth about various design choices and philosophies, Willits revealed that Games Workshop worked closely with the Saber, and right from dialogues to characters, the company monitored everything.
Yes, they were a great partner. Everything had to be approved, from a small insignia to iconography, dialogue, etc. But they were great to work with and helped us every step of the way, so it was a real partnership.

Saber Interactive Already Has Plans For The Future of Space Marine 2

While chatting with IGN, Willits stated that after the success of the Space Marine sequel, there had been discussions on how to follow it up. The game’s director has various story ideas that could result in a DLC or full-blown sequel.
Willits mentions that the development team will need some time time to breathe before moving forward. However, he has assured players that Saber won’t let down Warhammer fans.
Willits also dives into the importance of featuring new content additions in the form of DLC packs, stating that giving players new ways to experience what’s already established can go a long way in extending the game’s life.
He further reveals that releasing a trailer for the upcoming expansion can result in massive sale spikes, and ensuring that the game benefits from those are currently Saber’s top priority.
