TEKKEN 8 Season 1 Is Bringing Back Everyone’s Favorite Prime Minister, With New Story Content and More

With each update, TEKKEN 8 becomes a better experience, as Bandai Namco listens to the fans, provides balance updates to an extent, and throws in new content for its players. The concept of seasons in games has been going on for a while.

Although the latest TEKKEN felt complete on release as compared to other titles in the genre, even it couldn’t escape the seasonal route that comes with modern gaming. Last month, series veteran Eddy Gordo made his entrance into TEKKEN 8, but the future will see more inclusions that fans will likely appreciate.

At EVO Japan, Bandai Namco shared the roadmap for TEKKEN 8 Season 1 with a new trailer, and it couldn’t have ended on a better note. As the footage shared more details about what fans can expect from the game this year, TEKKEN 7 enthusiasts experienced deja vu, realizing that something similar happened with the last installment.

There’s a new stage coming to TEKKEN 8 in Summer called Seaside Resort, and when it showed up in the trailer, fans knew that they were about to get a certain character reveal. The Season 1 trailer ended with Bandai Namco revealing that Lidia Sobieski, the Prime Minister of Poland in the TEKKEN universe, will be joining Eddy as the second DLC character in Summer.

Interestingly, the karate fighter was also a DLC character in the previous installment’s Season 4, and the stage that accompanied her was also Seaside Resort. Considering how Lidia was always meant to be a TEKKEN 8 character, even if she made her debut in TEKKEN 7, her inclusion feels much more naturally added this time around.

Season 1 Also Includes Fresh Story Content and a Photo Mode

Starting off with a Battle Balance update in Spring, TEKKEN 8 looks to cater to player feedback regarding certain characters being a bit too overpowered, including the recently added Eddy Gordo and the Peruvian coffee queen Azucena. But even with some balancing issues, there are two aspects in which the latest TEKKEN installment definitely succeeds: its stunning visuals and the most cinematically epic story mode that the series has ever seen.

So it makes sense for Season 1 to add further layers to those elements, as along with the stage and character addition in the summer, TEKKEN 8 will also get a Photo Mode, allowing players to take gorgeous screenshots during their battles.

Autumn will see a fresh story update, with Eddy Gordo taking center stage this time around and leading an army against Nina Williams as he joins alliances with Jin Kazama to take down Kazuya Mishima. Other modes like Online Practice and Ghost vs Ghost will be coming to TEKKEN 8 later this year as well.
