Geoff Keighley Kills Any Hope of Konami’s Biggest Game of the Decade Getting Any Screentime at Summer Game Fest

Summer Game Fest is one of the biggest events in the world of gaming. This event is known for revealing highly anticipated titles, release dates, gameplay trailers, important updates, and many more. And this year’s event is not going to be an exception either; it will be held on June 7, 2024.

Everyone will have their eyes stuck to this event to see their favorite titles get unveiled. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater fans are one of them too. However, this year’s event is going to be disappointing for them; at least that’s what the host, Geoff Keighley, suggests.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater May Not be Present at Summer Game Fest 2024

In a recent Twitch Q&A, a famous Canadian video game journalist, who also happens to be the host of Summer Game Fest, ruled out the possibility of some games being featured in this event. In this session, Keighley confirmed that the show will be mainly focused on pre-existing games rather than upcoming titles.

He also stated that this year’s SGF won’t have Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. This is a massive blow for Metal Gear Solid fans, as the anticipation regarding the game is huge right now. Also, this game is going to be probably the biggest game of the decade. So, everyone expected some sort of update regarding game in this long-hailed event.

However, according to famous leaker Billbil-Kun, we might get an update on the release date of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, possibly on June 6, 2024, one day before the Summer Game Fest.

He has also stated that the opening of the pre-orders will also begin shortly after the game’s announcement. These are the leaked editions and prices of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater in the United States:

• Standard Edition (PS5 and Xbox Series X): US$69.99
• Collector’s Edition (PS5 and Xbox Series X): US$199.99

As of now, the content of the Collector’s Edition is still not confirmed.

What Else is Missing?

Along with the highly anticipated title, fans are also going to miss other titles like Kingdom Hearts 4, The Wolf Among Us 2, and Judas.

In Keighley’s words, this is what the event is going to look like:

“There definitely are things that are being announced, but this is not a show that has a lot of things like ‘coming in 2026’ or ‘2027’, or teasers for games that are years and years out… That’s generally what I would say in terms of expectation setting.”

However, Monster Hunter Wilds, Kingdom Come 2: Deliverance, and Metaphor: Refantazio were not mentioned by the host. So, we might count on the upcoming event for these titles.
