Avatar: The Last Airbender has a dedicated following of fans who got lost in its deep and affecting stories–so much so that the series saw a spiritual successor series in The Legend of Korra and got two live-action adaptations, including a well-liked live-action adaptation from Netflix. The comics pick up after the war with and defeat of Fire Lord Ozai and follow the protagonists of the animated series as they deal with the aftermath of those events and set out on new adventures. The omnibus set includes the complete run of stories written by Gene Luen Yang and with art by Gurihiru, which were created in collaboration with series creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. The box set includes five complete stories collected into omnibus books: The Promise, The Search, The Rift, Smoke and Shadow, and North and South.

In addition to the ongoing stories collected in the Omnibus, there are also standalone graphic novels that add to the Avatar story. Three, written by Faith Erin Hicks, drawn by Peter Wartman, and with colors by Adele Matera and letters by Jimmy Betancourt, are collected in the Avatar: The Last Airbender – Team Avatar Treasury Boxed Set. The Treasury Boxed Set includes stories focused on fan-favorite characters from the series: Katara and the Pirate’s Silver, Toph Beifong’s Metalbending Academy, and Suki, Alone.
