Gone are the PlayStation exclusive Square Enix games

Final Fantasy 14 director and producer, Naoki Yoshida, confirmed a not-so-shocking secret about future Square Enix games. Sadly for PlayStation fans, the days of exclusives from the third-party developer is officially gone.

Speaking with 4Gamer (via Eurogamer), Yoshida further solidifies previous reports that Square Enix is losing faith in exclusivity and will be bringing its future games to multiple platforms simultaneously. Notably, this is amid the coming release of Fantasian Neo Dimension, which hits all major platforms this time next month.

“Of course, we want you to play it a lot on other platforms as well. This time, we will also release the Xbox Series X|S version at the same time.

In the future, Square Enix titles will be released simultaneously on each platform more and more, but since this is close to the first release, we would like Xbox users to play it as well.”

The news also follows Square Enix’s fumbled PlayStation exclusive, Foamstars, going free-to-play.

Fantasian Neo Dimension releases to PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch on December 5.
