Gran Turismo 7’s New Physics Proves Polyphony Should Be Allowed to Make a WRC Rally Game

Released two years ago, Gran Turismo 7 was a fantastic addition to the PlayStation 5 exclusives. According to its rather large fan base, Gran Turismo 7 is one of the best games that perfectly simulates what it feels like to drive on a rally track.

A user on X believes that this studio should specifically focus on creating a game in this category, particularly the World Rally Championship, better known as WRC. According to this user, the studio behind this game, Polyphony Digital, should also try to create a corresponding VR experience.

The Studio Behind Gran Turismo 7 Should Work on a WRC Game

For several years, the racing genre has had a clear dominant force that is practically undisputed. These particular titles are the Forza games, which have demonstrated an almost unbeatable level of simulation.

Even so, on the PlayStation side, there is a series that has always known how to achieve a more than appropriate level of simulation. Gran Turismo 7 was the latest major entry in this franchise, which was one of the company’s biggest hits in its early years.

A fan on X suggested that the studio behind this franchise should concentrate on developing a game specifically for WRC. This user asserted that no studio has been able to replicate the gravel of the tracks in this category as effectively as Polyphony Digital.

A player stated that no other game has come close to the Rally experience this one provided, and other users agree.

The user continued to talk about this and compared it to Richard Burns Rally, an old rally game that was also very popular.

Among the comments, several players agreed with the author of this post, saying that to this day they have not found a game that matches how well this title simulated the feeling of gravel and dirt-filled tracks. They even said that series like Dirt Rally didn’t manage to do this well either.

Gran Turismo 7 is the seventh installment in this franchise that began in 1998, created by the spectacular Japanese studio Polyphony Digital.

One of the game’s most notable features is that players can try all kinds of racing categories with different cars. Each of these games has included more than 100 cars to choose from, eventually evolving to include more than 400 cars in a single title.

For now, there is no official announcement or at least information about what this particular studio’s next project will be. The studio’s last game was the VR version of GT7, which received excellent reviews from the audience due to the level of immersion the experience achieved.

This studio has proven more than once that it has the potential to make all kinds of games related to different car racing categories.
