GTA 5 Sales is Still So High That Even Dragon’s Dogma 2 Will Have a Hard Time Catching Up

GTA 5 still stands strong as one of the best games, even more than 10 years after its release. Many players are still enjoying the game and logging in daily to play it online.

The hype surrounding the game is so high that even some of the recent titles, including Dragon’s Dogma 2, fail to come close to the sales figures achieved by a game released more than 10 years ago.

GTA 5 is still doing pretty great in the market and the game has managed to maintain its relevance years after its release. It is still as relevant as it was years ago upon release and the sales figures are currently at an all-time high.

These sales figures cast a daunting shadow over some recently released titles that fail to come close to GTA 5. The same goes for the highly anticipated Dragon’s Dogma 2, which was released earlier this year. The game was surrounded by a lot of hype during its initial run, but its relevance seems to have been dying down significantly since April.

However, it will be years before any recent game manages to catch up to GTA 5, given the successful run of the game or 10 years and counting. It has officially sold 205 million units worldwide as of the latest quarter, and this number is bound to rise until the next GTA title is released.

Even some of the most successful games of recent years will have a very hard time catching up to the success of GTA 5. It is an anomaly that has managed to secure a special place in the history books.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Still Has A Long Time To Go

The comparison of the sales figures of these two games is by no means a direct indicator of Dragon’s Dogma 2 being a bad game. It is a healthy comparison between the two, primarily because Dragon’s Dogma 2 was anticipated to do really well in the market.

It had sold approximately 3 million units by April, and ever since, the graph of its success seems to be going down, whereas GTA 5 has seen its graph go significantly higher even years after its release. Something like this does not happen frequently, proving that GTA 5 is truly an exception.

There is still time for Dragon’s Dogma 2 to catch up to the latter’s success as much as it can, but even if it fails to do so, it should not be called a failure since that was not the point of releasing the game in the first place. What do you think about it? Let us know in the comments below.
