Good news Dallas residents, soon you won’t have to drive to Plano or Frisco for your Creamy Creations Ice Cream and Lone Stars, or to replenish your stores of That Green Sauce. That’s because every Texan’s favorite grocery store has just officially announced that it will be opening its first store in the city of Dallas. That’s right, H-E-B, a.k.a. the best grocery store in the nation is finally coming to Dallas.
The store will be located in Far North Dallas, but so far that’s almost all that is known about the eventual store. The press release from H-E-B only reveals that the land has been purchased and that the next step will be “work[ing] closely with neighbors and city officials on rezoning and planning efforts.”
As Eater points, out “the site is a whopping 10 acres.” While that’s not exactly the sprawl of Buc-ee’s territory, it is a good-sized space for what will hopefully be a good-sized store filled to the brim with Whataburger Honey Butter, Texas Pecan K-Cups, charro beans, and a bakery fully stocked with Cranberry Pistachio Bread at all times.
“While we have a lot of work to do, we look forward to connecting with our neighbors, the city, and community stakeholders to ensure we create a destination that best supports this community,” Mabrie Jackson, Public Affairs Managing Director for H-E-B and Central Market said in a press release. ”This is the first step in a long process, and we hope to share more details with our neighbors soon.”
The store hasn’t set an opening date yet, but based on the wording in the press release it may be closer to 2026.
