Hall effect sticks rumor gains cred

Back in December, a rumor surfaced surrounding the Switch 2. At the time, it was met with exceptional criticism and should still be seen warily, however other details such as outing the console as having a “pop of color” helps the leaker’s case.

Moreover, beyond the initial post on Twitter (via TheGamer), NextHandheld alleged that it would be revealed in January, as well as giving details about the console’s controllers being bigger and what the logo looks like.

One of the notable things NextHandheld claimed was that Nintendo intended to fix the notorious Joy-Con drift issue that current Switch controllers are susceptible to. Using Hall effect sticks, which uses magnets and conductors to measure the position of the sticks, should help with the drift issues.

Considering drifting has been a problem since the launch of the original Switch back in 2017, this would be a massive upgrade in and of itself. If you wanna learn more about what we really learned from the recent reveal of the Switch 2, you can read up on that.
