Healthy drive-thru chain is looking to open its first spots in the Kansas City area
An Arizona-based health food chain is looking to enter the Kansas City market, starting with two Johnson County restaurants.
Salad and Go has filed applications with the city of Overland Park to build drive-thrus at 95th Street and Metcalf Avenue, as well as at 135th Street and Nall Avenue in Prairiefire.
In a statement to The Star, Salad and Go said it was “exploring possibilities in the area for 2025.”
The chain sells wraps, soups and breakfast burritos.
Its salad options include the roasted autumn salad (sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, candied pecans, dried cranberries, grated parmesan cheese, romaine lettuce, chicken or tofu) and the fajita salad (avocado, poblano peppers, red peppers, black beans, pico de gallo, pepper jack cheese, romaine lettuce).
Salad and Go, founded in 2013, has dozens of locations in Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma and Nevada.
The chain’s chief executive officer, Charlie Morrison, is a Kansas native and the former CEO of Texas-based Wingstop.
A Kansas State graduate, Morrison is looking forward to visiting his grandchildren in Kansas City while helping the Salad and Go team, said spokeswoman Carly Wilhelm.
