Helldivers 2‘s ammo booster called Hellpod Space Optimization is extremely useful as it gives players full ammo, stims, and grenades whenever they come out of Hellpod. Many players pointed out that this is not very authentic in a shooting game’s aspect, however, the game’s director, Johan Pilestedt, revealed that this booster is inspired by his time in the army.

Yes, Helldivers 2‘s director has served in the army for a brief period and has been applying those concepts to the game. Despite so many complaints, it seems like this booster will not be removed from the game any time soon, given how Pilestedt put this into the game using his personal experience.

Recently a player on Reddit pointed out that the Hellpod Space Optimization ammo booster should be removed as “no trained solider of democracy would launch into battle with no ammo.” The player claimed that it has no purpose other than wasting a booster slot. Johan Pilestedt, Helldivers 2‘s director, responded to this, claiming that it was inspired by his time in the army,

“It is inspired by my time in the military, where we had a standard allocation of ammo, but whenever you could get your hands on more it was always possible to stuff an extra magazine in another pocket – It’s the difference between ‘issued ammo’ and ‘shoving mags everywhere’.”

It can be assumed that Pilestedt served in the army of Sweden as his LinkedIn states that he has been based in Sweden since at least 2006. It is surely exciting to know that Pilestedt has been using his own army experiences to add new things to Helldivers 2.

Fans also want Arrowhead to improve Localisation Confusion booster

Apart from the Hellpod Space Optimization booster, fans wish to see some changes in the Localisation Confusion booster. The explanation of this booster doesn’t narrow down what it exactly does but if Arrowhead buffs up this booster, fans would love to equip it. This booster increases the time between enemy reinforcements allowing players to get some time before new enemies.

If you or any of your teammates equip this booster, the time between reinforcement calls is reduced by 35-40%. Many players have pointed out that the reduction is very insignificant and there’s no way to tell if this booster is working properly. Fans have been asking Arrowhead to make slight tweaks to this booster.
