Helldivers 2: How to Kill Berserkers

Don’t get overwhelmed by those bugs or robot enemies blocking your path. They are all removable obstacles; you only need proper strategies to beat them.

To make the missions challenging, Helldivers 2 has multiple types of Terminid and Automaton enemies present. Some of these are immensely powerful, and unfortunately, Berserkers are among them. Helldivers 2: Where to Find Berserkers

If you have been grinding Helldivers 2, you must have realized that the Automaton faction is one of the hardest to take down. Specifically, if you have faced heavily armored enemies like Hulks, you are aware of how deadly these robot enemies can become. Therefore, approaching Berserkers without any prior knowledge won’t be wise.

So, let’s start with the location of these bot enemies. Berserkers are heavily armored, chainsaw-wielding robot enemies whom players can find throughout the Automaton missions.

However, the chances of encountering them in low difficulty missions are less than facing them in higher difficulty missions. Therefore, you can expect to find them at medium to Helldive difficulty.

Berserkers spawn pretty frequently during missions, and these chainsaw-wielding bot enemies can be easily identified. Look for the two chainsaws on their arms. 

Now that you have spotted them, there’s no way back. The fight is inevitable. So, let’s dive into the best strategies to beat these Automaton threats.

How to Kill Berserkers in Helldivers 2

As the fight begins, soon you will realize that Berserkers are one of those enemies who neither shoot relentlessly at you nor do they run toward you at a high speed. Instead, these enemies are pretty slow and mostly depend on the two chainsaws they wield. Therefore, running away from them won’t be too hard. 

Along with that, you will also realize that these enemies are heavily armored foes who won’t take damage easily. Additionally, you can’t stop them by placing any obstacle in their way. Berserkers can chop anything off with chainsaws. Therefore, hiding behind a cover and attacking them from there won’t work.

So, the first thing you should keep in mind is that the only way to beat Berserkers is to face and fight these robots. Ensure you are not too close to the enemy. Keep a safe distance. Fortunately, these robot enemies lack range, but if you come within their melee range, you will be eliminated in a single blow. 

One relief is that Berserkers won’t attack unless players come within range. Therefore, if you keep moving and maintain a mid-to-long distance from the enemy, you will be safe from its attacks. You can bring any mid- or long-range weapon to shoot Berserkers.

Shooting randomly won’t be of any use. As the entire body of the enemy is covered by heavy armor, it won’t take damage. So, finding out the weak spot is necessary to speed up the fight. Here, Berserkers are a little different than others. While most Automaton enemies have one weak spot, it has two. 

First, aim at its head. That’s the weakest spot to attack, and the robot will take the most damage. Additionally, you can target the core area of its body. Though the body is covered with armor, you will locate a red glowing spot in the body, which is the second weak spot, and hitting it will eventually take the enemy down.

About the weapons, snipers will work the best against these bots. Bring any sniper rifle you prefer, make distance from the Berserker, and shoot at its weak points, specifically its head. Alternatively, you can bring shotguns to deal heavy damage at mid-range.

Helldivers 2 has a long list of Stratagems for these challenging fights and among them, Railgun and FLAM-40 Flamethrower are suggested to beat the Berserkers.

If you are fighting a group of these heavily armored robots, in that case, Orbital Precision Strike will work best. The AoE damage is strong and can eliminate these bots easily. However, don’t depend too much on the Stratagems.
