Helldivers 2 Major Order Update on September 3, 2025

Helldivers 2’s latest Major Order just turned the galaxy upside down: for the first time ever, the war effort has shifted from the surface into the twisted guts of a Hive World. Oshaune (pronounced however chaos demands) hosts the current MO as of September 3:

The mission is to successfully extract with a whopping 350 million Common and 200 million Rare Samples—on a planet where even the ground hates you. Keep your visors peeled for the latest standings and plenty of managed democracy, because the sample grind has only just begun.

State of the Warfront

Here’s where the spore-covered bloodbath stands:

Objective Status Progress
Extract 350,000,000 Common Samples on OSHAUNE ~30,305,000 ~8.8%
Extract 200,000,000 Rare Samples on OSHAUNE ~14,533,000 ~7.4%

As of writing, roughly a hundred thousand Helldivers—about 65% of the active galactic population—are swarming Oshaune. You’d think with so many boots on the ground, the granaries of liberty would overflow. Not so: sample numbers are off to a positively sluggish (some might say tragic) start.

For a community used to blitzing through traditional bug planets, the brutal pace is an adjustment. Turns out the Gloom, plus all the new party-crasher bugs, turn difficulty dials way past “fun.” Even seasoned squads are calling Oshaune’s upper difficulties punishing, and not everyone has found their rhythm in the new cave mazes.

Top intel dispatches for the week:

  • No Arsenal Augmentations are in effect (Divers could really use one right now, High Command).
  • Gloom Interference: Extraction times on Oshaune have gotten even worse. Pelican pilots now need an extra 50 seconds to get clear of the toxic soup.
  • Rupture Strain Mutation: New breed of bugs favor moving underground. They erupt beneath divers, ignoring the rules of engagement established by generations of less rude Terminids.

As for the Democracy Space Station, it’s still stuck orbiting Sulfura and providing the standard “Operational Support” as always. A passive campaign progress boost and Exosuit cooldown reduction are better than nothing, but you won’t see the DSS anywhere near a Hive World for now.

The community’s first week in the Hive Worlds has produced some legendary moments and plenty of chaos. Between discovering what actually lurks in those underground tunnels and dealing with the usual post-update technical hiccups, Helldivers are sharing their experiences in typical fashion: with screenshots, panic, and lots of explosions:

Arrowhead finally did it: Hive Lords are not only real, they’re equal parts panic-inducing and hilarious. All the little teasers they’ve dropped have paid off, and the beast’s design is every bit as horrifying as we’d imagined. Still, anyone fearing an unkillable monstrosity can rest easy; some squads have actually managed to kill one:

Too much firepower? Never. The community is in chaos: half the fun is now in discovering what works and what just leads to another heroic (and explosively messy) wipe. Meanwhile, Arrowhead is trying to untangle the mess that is post-patch stability, with piles of crash logs and a tidal wave of bug reports.

Hive Worlds are redefining what a Major Order feels like. The pace may be slow and the learning curve vertical, but Super Earth’s finest aren’t the type to back down. If you want to see where the next curveball lands, keep checking back for our next Major Order report. We’ll be here in the thick of it.
