Helldivers 2 Merch Means You Can Now Own A Real Cup Of Liber-Tea
Hot off Helldivers 2’s success, Sony is now selling official merchandise inspired by the co-op shooter, including a mug perfect for sipping some Liber-tea.
In a Playstation Blog post announcing the new Helldivers 2 merchandise line, Grace Chen, vice president of network advertising, loyalty, and licensed merchandise at PlayStation, said more products will be coming in the next few months. Currently, the merch is available through the official PlayStation Gear shop, Amazon, and Insert Coin, as well as other unspecified “select retailers.”
Right now there are just a few choice items available on the official PlayStation shop, ranging from the before mentioned Liber-tea mug to a hoodie and hat featuring the Helldivers 2 logo, as well as a t-shirt emblazoned with the Stratagem input code for the Orbital Precision Strike. Amazon has a wider range of shirts available, including tank-tops and long-sleeve shirts, emblazoned with quotes like “Sweet liberty, my leg!” and “Say hello to democracy!” In addition to shirts, Insert Coin is also selling a Super Earth enamel pin.
“We’re thrilled to offer our dedicated community the chance to take their Helldivers 2 experience to the next level,” Chen said. “With this merchandise line, fans can proudly display their allegiance to Super Earth, whatever their role in the Galactic War may be.”
Helldivers 2 continues to be one of the top-played and top-selling games on Steam, and is the biggest launch for ever PlayStation published game on PC. The Arrowhead Studios developed title is also available for PlayStation 5, with cross-play support between the two platforms.
The most recent Helldivers 2 patch made some of its more challenging enemies easier to bring down, while a new Major Order could bring some permanent changes to the galaxy via a new planet-wide defense weapon that will (hopefully) stop the ravenous Termanids in their tracks.
Arrowhead has kept Helldivers 2 fresh with balance changes and new events as part of its ongoing Galactic War, a war that recently saw players liberate planets hosting manufacturing plants in order to call in pilotable mechs. Now, new, flying Termanid enemies have been spotted out in the wild, something Helldivers 2 director Johan Pilestedt jokingly said sounds like “propaganda from bug-sympathizers that want to brainwash good people.” Helldivers 2’s first post-launch Warbond, Cutting Edge, is live now.
