Helldivers 2 Resurgence is Good News, But We Still Don’t Know How to Get the Best Out of Chemical Agents Warbond
The journey of Helldivers 2 has been anything but smooth. Initially, it was met with excitement, but as time passed it faced significant controversies and struggles. However, with Arrowhead’s dedication, the game is getting back on its feet once again. With the latest patch addressing many issues and also balancing the equipment, players are excited to liberate planets and spread democracy across the universe.
Of all the new features added with the latest patch, the newly added Chemical Agents Warbond is one of the most unique ones. This new Warbond centers around gas damage and crowd control rather than dealing massive damage. Due to its unique abilities and other valuable tools like Sterilizer, Gas Grenades, etc, some players are raising concerns about its viability, especially those who thrive on aggressive gameplay.
Is the New Warbond a Smart Investment for Helldivers 2 Fans?
Helldivers 2‘s Warbond is an unlockable equipment that players can unlock by spending Warbond medals that can be earned by completing missions, personal orders, and major missions. Since these are a permanent feature, players can make progress on any specific one over time. Before the latest patch, every Warbond was focused on dealing damage in various ways, essentially providing different gameplay experiences.
But with the introduction of Chemical Agents Warbond, the developers want players to try out a new gameplay playstyle that focuses on providing support to the whole squad by providing crowd control rather than dealing higher personal damage. The new warbond includes valuable tools like the Sterilizer, Gas Grenades, P-11 Stim Pistol, and Dog Breath Rover.
All of these tools provide some kind of support to the team. Sterilizer functions as a support weapon with low damage but allows players to temporarily disable stronger enemies. Gas Grenade can confuse enemies for a short time and also doesn’t use a weapon slot. Lastly, the Dog Breath Rover provides infinite ammunition and excels at keeping melee enemies at bay
Besides the P-11 Stim Pistol which can be impractical to use in a fast-paced combat (still valuable in certain scenarios), all the other tools are impactful and help the entire team in some way or another. Overall, the new warbond is unique and useful but requires players to adopt a less aggressive playstyle. So players should set their expectations accordingly.
If supporting their teammates is the player’s main goal, this Warbond is definitely worth the investment but if players want to create chaos by taking on a massive horde of enemies there are better options than the new Warbond.
Players Should Manage their Expectations
Even though the battles in Helldivers 2 are chaotic and fast-paced, players still need to coordinate with their teammates to successfully complete the missions. So it is always necessary that players carefully consider their playstyle and pick the loadout that suits them the most.
It looks like Arrowhead was also thinking about exploring different playstyles when they introduced the new Chemical Agents Warbond as it brings unique tools to the table such as crowd control and gas damage. However, the only downside to this warbond is its effectiveness largely hinges on situational use (when players can’t handle the horde of enemies) and team coordination.
So those players who want to do high damage might find this warbond lacking in more ways than one, as it also doesn’t have a primary weapon. But for those who believe in teamwork and coordination, the gas effects can be an effective tool in managing swarms of enemies and the stims for keeping the teammate alive.
In the end, it remains to be seen how players will adapt to and maximize the Chemical Agents Warbond on the battlefield. But one thing is certain: as Helldivers 2 is evolving, players need to evolve and manage their expectations.
