Helldivers 2 Should No Longer Ignore One Basic Gun Type That Has Limitless Potential
Few titles have managed to gain as much traction as Helldivers 2. Released back in February, the Arrowhead game shot to stardom overnight thanks to its addictive gameplay loop, dramatic co-op, and non-predatory live-service approach gamers couldn’t get enough of. In the initial months, the game managed to unprecedented heights, and while its player count has declined in recent weeks, it hasn’t stopped developers from giving us more.
Helldivers 2‘s recent updates have been everything from new enemies to equipment additions, which have drastically altered the fight to save democracy. The developers have also brought tons of new weapons, which have raised tensions in the galactic freedom struggle. While they’re quite exciting, the game desperately needs one base gun type, which could change everything we know.
Arrowhead Must Bring One-Handed Support Guns in Helldivers 2
There are an endless number of primary and secondary weapons to equip and decimate your enemies in Helldivers 2. However, the most powerful ones come from those brought in by stratagems, which allow gamers to complete missions in even the most difficult situations.
With how fantastic these weapons can prove to be, it makes us wonder why hasn’t Arrowhead considered adding one-handed support weapons?
Sure, they’re not the most powerful equipment out there, but they have the potential to be in high leagues if the developers introduce them in the right way.
One-handed weapons could prove to be valuable support weapons. These could bring various benefits to the table. For instance, players carrying crucial mission items could have a chance to defend themselves instead of running for their lives.
Since they’re one-handed weapons, they could feature more ammo than other weapons, which will reduce the need to resupply constantly. While they could be weaker than primary support weapons, they can feature shorter cool times, which will make them instantly available.
Introducing this brand-new weapon type will ultimately give players more variety, encourage various playstyles, and add strategic depth. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope Arrowhead considers adding one-handed support weapons.
Helldivers 2 is Gaining Ground Once Again
In the last couple of months ,Helldivers 2 lost a massive portion of its player base due to various controversial changes, and updates. However, Arrowhead isn’t giving up like that. The studio has come up with a 60-day plan to recharge the game by using the community’s feedback.
With the 1.001.100 patch, many weapons and Stratagems such as Breaker, Railgun, Flamethrowers, and Liberators were massively amped up. That’s not all; the developers also reworked many broken aspects of the title.
While it’s great to see that Arrowhead is actively listening to player feedback, it’s time to divert resources to some new content for Helldivers.
Recent leaks suggest that the studio is planning to bring a new faction to the game, the Illuminate. With how Arrowhead has been handling weapons and Stratagems lately, players would love to fend off new enemies, so it’s the perfect time to introduce them.
With that said, would you like to see any other weapon type in Helldivers 2? If so, let us know in the comments below.
