It seems like the comparison between Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 and Helldivers 2 is not stopping any time soon. Players on Reddit have declared Helldivers 2 as the winner because of the unapologetic evil lunacy of Super Earth. It’s no secret that Helldivers 2 is a satire on imperialism and fascism, which is one of the main reasons why players love the game.

Everyone is familiar with Super Earth’s unapologetic brainwashing of its soldiers and citizens. Many theories accuse Super Earth of being evil as it exploits Automaton and Terminid factions for its resources. These theories are true to some extent, as Johan Pilestedt, the Chief Creative Officer of Arrowhead, has made it clear in the past that Super Earth is the real villain.

Players Believe That Helldivers 2‘s Satirical Nature Makes It Better Than Space Marine 2

A viral post on the r/Helldivers2 subreddit put a spotlight on the satirical natures of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 and Helldivers 2. The post clearly declares the Helldivers 2 community as the winner as each Helldiver knows that Super Earth has been brainwashing everyone. The satire is what makes Helldivers 2 exciting for many.

As the satire in 40k grew more downplayed I lost interest (same with the Starship Trooper movies), I realize that a big reason Helldivers 2 keeps its hooks in me alongside the gameplay is the unapologetic evil lunacy of Super Earth!

A Space Marine 2 player will certainly defend their faction but Helldivers 2 players agree that Super Earth is evil. The game is being labeled as a war crime simulator, in fact, some players are even supporting Super Earth in their war against Automatons and Terminids. The community loves the chaos and wants more, even if it is killing innocent Automaton civilians to take over their land.

Johan Pilestedt Has Confirmed That Super Earth Is The Evil Side

It is surprising that some players in the community still don’t understand that Helldivers 2 is satire, so Johan Pilestedt had to clear out this confusion. At the Nordic Game conference in Sweden, Pilestedt explained that Helldivers 2 was planned to be “a co-op action shooter where players are put in the shoes of the ‘evil side’ grunts of pop culture,” making it clear that players are on the “evil side.“

Many theories suggest that Super Earth uses Automatons to farm raw materials. The theory claims that Automatons first utilize raw materials on planets to create pure metals, then it is acquired by Helldivers in the form of Major Orders. As for Terminids, the game has explicitly stated that the Termind faction is used as a source for E-710. Both of these factions are clearly getting exploited but no one has the courage to speak against Super Earth.
