Here’s Why It Will Never Be Able To Reach The Elden Ring DLC Hype Level

Lies of P fans are over the moon after the game director confirmed that the studio is actively working on a story expansion. Little is known about the upcoming expansion and some fans expect it to be much shorter and smaller in scope and scale compared to other massive story expansions from other Soulslike games in recent memory like Shadow of the Erdtree. Round 8 Studio struck gold with the base game and will take the feedback from the gaming community and apply it to the upcoming story DLC.

The Game Director of Lies of P Is Proud to Announce the Upcoming Story Expansion

Game development is not for the faint of heart. It is a time-consuming and soul-crushing endeavor; however, director Jiwon Choi did not falter to the fear of failure and encouraged his team from South Korea to make something great, and lo and behold: Lies of P. South Korean game developers are carrying the current generation of gaming with their unique art style and approach to storytelling and combat.

The gaming community is delighted to see Choi announce the upcoming DLC and sequel for the beloved Soulslike. Countless developers have been working on their unique spin to the genre and only a few rare escaped unscathed from public criticism. Choi did not give away any concrete details or answers as to when the fans could expect this DLC to drop but ensured everyone else who worked on the project had their due attention.

Choi’s optimism is something to be admired and if the upcoming DLC and sequel will be anything like the base game, then the player base is in for a treat for another great Round 8 Studio production. Other great Soulslike games like Elden Ring were universally praised by the gaming community and critics society alike, and this encouraged the developers of FromSoftware to double dip and create the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion that rivals the success of the base game.

The game developers proudly gave the fans a sneak peek at what they can expect from the DLC through a stunning yet ambiguous piece of concept art. Hopefully, the gaming community will not have to wait long enough to experience another great Soulslike adventure.

Amidst the fierce competition, director Jiwon Choi stayed true and believed in their work. The gaming industry needs creative visionaries like Choi to maintain the consistent outflow of unique gaming experiences that the industry is currently devoid of today.

The base game takes place in the Lands Between which was already massive in scale and full of detail paired with a great narrative and intense combat. Director Hidetaka Miyazaki did not hold back and developed an equally great story expansion that rivals the scale and amount of content of the base game.

The gaming community could say that the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC felt like a separate game since the developers added a new location for players to explore. Miyazaki admitted he had to take shortcuts and use his knowledge as a game developer to overcome certain obstacles of the base game while working on the expansion which is a testament to the grueling and harrowing experience the player base must endure.

Lies of P is said to have a much more linear story expansion than the massive open world of Shadow of the Erdtree. However, both expansions can be great without copying the same formula. It all greatly depends on execution and how knowledgeable the developers are of their lore which was a great benefit for Miyazaki with the leftover material omitted from the base game for budgetary reasons and time constraints.

Round 8 Studio has shown the gaming community what they are capable of and fans expect more high-quality projects. Choi is grateful and appreciative of the compliments and positive feedback which will drive him and his team to create a great story expansion and sequel.
