Hey Riot, Can You Please Give Neon 1 Nerf to Make Her More Balanced?

For years, Valorant players dubbed the game a slow-paced shooter. However, Riot took that feedback to its heart and amped the intensity of the game ten times over with the introduction of Neon. The game’s 19th hero packs a fantastic speed and can push into the skies in the blink of an eye. While she brings a lot of speed to the table, she hasn’t performed exceptionally well as a duelist.

In recent months, Riot has constantly tweaked Neon to push her usage rate to higher levels. However, one of the recent patches has broken one aspect of her kit that the studio immediately needs to put the brakes on; otherwise, it’s going to shatter everything we’ve grown to love in Valorant.

Riot Games Must Nerf Neon’s Sliding Mechanics

Back in June 2024, Riot Games released patch 8.11 for Valorant, and many duelists received major changes, Neon being one of them. The changes to her kit were the most significant out of any Agents due to the fact that her buffs were outright game-changing. According to the developers, these changes were meant to make her more combat-ready.

While these changes certainly made Neon more fun to play, the change to 100% accuracy during her sliding mechanic has proven to be a disaster. Every player agrees with the fact that this unnecessary change has made her a force to be reckoned with and simply can’t be countered, even if in the right conditions.

The agent’s buffed sliding capabilities certainly ruin the games‘ slower strategic pace and seem to be something right out of faster-paced games such as Apex Legends. It completely negates any kind of strategic shooting mechanics, which reward precision and patience.

That’s not the end of the story. Another concern is her ultimate ability, which is quite overpowered. Not only does it grant her excessive power in troublesome situations, but it also leads to poor gameplay decisions. At higher levels, you simply can’t deal with her alone. You need to coordinate with your team; otherwise, you’re destined for failure.

It’s crucial for the developers to nerf Neon’s overpowered abilities. This can be approached in many ways, such as limiting the number of slides or completely removing sliding accuracy. Let’s cross our fingers, and hope Riot deals with the issue as soon as possible, and end this agent’s dominance.

Developers Must Fix Other Major Issues in the Game

With constant changes and updates, Riot has managed to improve the game a lot in the last couple of months. However, alongside Neon’s busted abilities, there are still more issues that must be addressed in the upcoming updates.

When it comes to other popular agents, gamers have been demanding Riot Games to rework various agents such as Chamber and Harbor. This year, Reyna was in a balanced state, but the changes to her Devour ability have completely rendered her useless.

Recently, Riot Games also added Abyss to Valorant. However, it hasn’t gained the traction the developer had been hoping for. It’s filled with various problems and is in desperate need of tweaks to the design of the no-protective wall.

The studio has big plans for the game, as it has confirmed that major aspects such as balance, player behaviors, and anti-cheat will be addressed soon. Riot must nail this and give gamers what they’ve been seeking for months now.

With that said, how do you think Riot can balance Neon? Let us know in the comments below!
