Helldivers 2 fans are very creative and it has been proved once again as a player made a concept Stratagem for the game that allows players to record their action-packed moments on the battlefield.

Indeed, screen-sharing and screen-recording are some options that players can already use, but a feature like this that solely focuses on capturing action from different angles would certainly be an exciting addition.

We’ve seen a lot of crazy clips shared by fans on the Helldivers 2 subreddit and if this feature existed in the game, these clips would be 10x more entertaining. In the past, players have come across a mysterious unused Stratagem in the game’s files that indicates a camera-related Stratagem was initially planned.

A Reddit user named Icy_Combination_5428 shared a Stratagem concept called HFC-3 VOX POPULI in the r/Helldivers2 subreddit. This concept Stratagem allows players to record their battles with the bugs and the bots. Many modern video games allow players to record their gameplay with a proper in-built system. As of now, Helldivers 2 players have to rely on screen recording to share their clips but if Arrowhead Game Studios plans to add something like this, it would take things to the next level.

Players would not only be able to capture exciting clips for their friends, but the community would also be able to create epic short movies using the footage. On top of this, providing players with highlights after every match would also be an exciting addition to the game. With proper execution, Arrowhead can improve the overall gaming experience for everyone by adding this feature.

Did Arrowhead initially plan to add a camera feature in Helldivers 2?

In February, a Reddit user named Stodal shared a list of unused Stratagems in r/GamingLeaksAndRumours that was found in Helldivers 2‘s files. The long list included many interesting concepts, including a ShoulderMountedCamera Stratagem. This could hint that Arrowhead initially had plans to add some sort of camera feature in the game, but it may have been scrapped for some reason.

It doesn’t end here as another recent finding backs up this theory. Last month, Reddit user ForerunnerLore found an untextured camera in Helldivers 2‘s game files. Helldivers 2‘s chaotic battlefields are one of the main reasons why players are addicted to the game, so, Arrowhead certainly needs to discuss this feature and execute it as soon as possible.
