Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster Spiraling into Sony’s Own GTA Trilogy-Level Disaster
Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has rated an unannounced Sony game on its official website. ESRB is a self-regulatory organization that assigns age and content ratings to consumer video games and their website has seemingly confirmed that Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster is coming to PlayStation 5 and PC very soon.
While the leak is huge, it’s not exactly quite popular among the PlayStation community. There could be various reasons behind it but most of the fanbase was expecting another PlayStation remaster instead of a game that was released less than a decade ago. Fans of the God of War franchise as well as Bloodborne fans have been eagerly waiting to try out their favorite games on the newer consoles but Sony has refused to acknowledge them.
Sony Will Release Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered Very Soon
A game called Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered from Sony Interactive Entertainment has received a rating on ESRB, but no such game has been announced from Sony. This is a big hint that the game is almost complete and will be released very soon.
2017’s Horizon Zero Dawn was released for PlayStation 4 in 2017 and Windows in 2020. The game was a massive hit and received positive reviews from fans as well as critics. A sequel called Horizon Forbidden West was released for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in February 2022. The anticipation for this news isn’t exactly very high as fans believe that Sony should focus on other remasters instead.
Is Sony Making A Mistake With Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered?
We’ve seen various failed remasters in the past, such as Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, Silent Hill HD Collection, and Mafia II Definitive Edition. It seems like Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will also suffer from the same fate as there is almost no hype about the leak.
Sony has other popular franchises under its belt that deserve a remaster instead of Horizon Zero Dawn. Guerrilla Games is reportedly working on a third Horizon game, so was this remaster really necessary? Players expected remasters of games like 2015’s Bloodborne and 2005’s God of War but Sony is spending its precious funds on a Horizon Zero Dawn remaster.
This could be a terrible decision from Sony and with Microsoft gaining an edge day by day, they need to start focusing more on players’ feedback to make sure they are making the right decisions. It’s not like Horizon Zero Dawn is a terrible game, it is probably one of the best action role-playing games from Sony, but this is not what the community wanted and Sony might realize it when it’s too late.
