HOUSTON – A Houston doctor has been temporarily suspended without notice on Thursday, according to a release.
Samer Elfallal was suspended after determining his continuation in the practice of medicine poses a continuing threat to public welfare.

According to a release, the Board found that on Dec. 22, 2022, Elfallal negligently overdosed one patient with a toxic injection of lidocaine resulting in seizure, near cardiac arrest, immediate admittance into ICU, and neurological deficits.
Officials said Elfallal was indicted in December 2024 in Harris County for aggravated assault for intentionally, knowingly, and recklessly causing bodily harm to the patient via the improper administration of lidocaine.

A temporary suspension hearing with notice will be held as soon as practicable with 10 days’ notice to Elfallal unless the hearing is specifically waived by Elfallal.
The temporary suspension remains in place until the Board takes further action.
