So, how do you actually unlock each of these planets in The Outer Worlds 2? Well, all you need to do is progress through the main quests. As you complete these, you’ll gain access to new planets to explore and see what’s there in this universe. Getting to these planets is quite easy. All you need to do is go to the Incognito’s control room, where you’ll come across the navigation terminal. Just choose one of the six planets we’ve mentioned above, and you’ll be there.
Can Future Updates for The Outer Worlds 2 Add More Planets?
After looking at the list of all planets in The Outer Worlds 2, you might feel that six planets aren’t really a lot. Sure, Obsidian could’ve added a bunch more for players to explore, and you’re right.
When you take a look at space sci-fi games like Starfield, you really get a reality check, as most such games have a lot more planets to offer and really drive players to explore more.

So, will the future updates or expansions add more planets? Unfortunately, there’s no official confirmation. What we do know is that Obsidian is working on two future story expansions for the game.
It’s still unclear where these story expansions would take the narrative, what content they’ll bring to the table, and even their release windows. However, one can surely hope that the devs will heavily expand on the exploration side.
