How To Activate Grav Drive

There are a lot of regions to travel in the Settled Systems of Starfield. And as a space exploration video game, players are ought to spend their time making plans to travel region to region in the space. Thankfully, we have a ship at our disposal at the beginning of the game.

But then it’s space; we cannot simply think of just keeping going in one direction and hopefully finding that planet we are looking for. Traveling in space either requires that instant transmission technique of Goku’s or a warp drive. And we have the latter in the form of Grav Drive.

What is a Grav Drive in Starfield?

As we all know, the game is set in space with several planets, moons, systems, and more scattered across its map. To reach these places, Grav Drives are used in the game, which is a part of our ship. Earlier models of the drive were flawed, and experimenting with them caused destabilization of Earth’s magnetosphere.

That prompted people to find home in outer space as a perfected version of Grav Drive eventually came to fruition. And that gave the people the power of speed to travel to different planets that are light years away in the game.

Grav Drive’s power is indicated by the ‘Grav Jump Thrust’ value that currently goes as far as 30 light years. As per the lore, it uses Helium-3 for making that jump in the space.

How to Activate Grav Drive in Starfield?

Using the Grav Drive will require some understanding of the menu system available at the bottom left of the screen. There are a variety of options with bars that indicate the power they are using. One needs to allocate the power to the Gav Drive. Now how one does that depends entirely on a user.

Then the users will have to enter the star system and choose the planet they are willing to enter. They are going to have to navigate through a bit. But as soon as they have a planet they want to enter and enough power, just choose the set course button.

Another menu will pop up on the right with an option saying Jump. Simply press the assigned key to that and hold the button to begin; that’ll take you to the far side of the space. Just wait for the countdown to finish, and you’ll be on the other side in no time.
