How to Beat Vyke, Knight of the Roundtable

This is a quick guide on how to beat Vyke, Knight of the Roundtable in Elden Ring. This is one of the many optional bosses scattered in The Lands Between for the Tarnished to fight. This optional boss is not hard by any means; however, underestimating this boss can lead to a swift demise.

Fortunately, there are a handful of options to face this enemy and there are ways to defeat him without much effort. Soulslike games have nurtured the gaming community to keep their distance and fight from afar and this principle is applicable in this regard.

Where Can You Find Vyke, Knight of the Roundtable?

The Lord Contender’s Evergoal at the Mountaintops of the Giants is where Vyke, Knight of the Roundtable will be waiting for the Tarnished. The game developers of FromSoftware crafted an expansive world in Elden Ring and the Lands Between was the perfect stomping ground for the Tarnished to explore and meet fellow Tarnished from the past.

This iteration of the Tarnished achieved great feats during their time and was extremely close to becoming the next Elden Lord. Nevertheless, their previous achievements do not hold the candle next to the player and are not as challenging as other optional bosses; however, this does not mean players should walk into the arena without a plan or the right equipment.

How to Prepare to Fight Vyke, Knight of the Roundtable

It is worth noting that players should have a high level of decent gear before stepping into the arena. Similarly to the fight against the Alabaster Lord, the Tarnished cannot summon friends or Spirit Ashes to help them fight Vyke.

This will be a fight to the death and players should have a powerful ability like Glintblade Phalanx Ash of War which can be acquired after defeating Godrick the Grafted, one of the earlier mandatory bosses in the game.

This optional enemy is slower and more sluggish than anticipated but can inflict lightning damage from a distance. This presents an opportunity for the Tarnished to do the same and avoid sustaining any melee damage by firing projectiles from a distance with the Glintblade Phalanx.

How to Beat Vyke, Knight of the Roundtable?

While this optional boss is not hard by any standard, it can be challenging to create some distance. Elden Ring players must apply the basic rule carried over from each Soulslike project from the past few years which is rolling away from danger. Fortunately, some weapons can inflict damage from a safe distance.

How to Cheese Vyke, Knight of the Roundtable?	The Tarnished can start the fight and spam the Glintblade Phalanx. This enemy will have trouble keeping up after a few good hits.

Before starting the fight, players can apply whatever buffs they have on their person. The Tarnished can proceed to rush toward the spawn point and do a few quick melee attacks to start. The enemy boss will be immediately staggered and proceed to chase the player down.

Players can use the Glintblade Phalanx Ash of War to summon a few floating swords and hit the enemy from a distance. Vyke will try to chase the player but with enough distance between made by the Glintblade Phalanx, this enemy will have a hard time dealing damage.

After a few good hits, Vyke will be defeated and players will be rewarded with 75000 Runes, the Dragonbolt Incantation, and the Fingerprint’s Set. This method will decrease the chances of taking any physical damage and is effective in a straight one-on-one fight.

Despite being the most renowned Tarnished and the closest to becoming the next Elden Lord, Vyke will stand no chance against players with the Glintblade Phalanx.
