Astro Bot is one of the probable Game of the The Year contenders; so gameplay offering players interesting, yet deadly challenges is expected. If you are looking for the Wako Tako boss, the first thing you need to do is unlock the Wako Tako planet.

To start the process, first, players need to rescue 60 Bots to unlock the Wako Tako planet. Next, keep progressing through it until you arrive at a tropical system of islands, where you will see tentacle enemies all around.

Starting from the ship, there will be four checkpoints to cross before players reach the slingshot, which will launch them to the Wako Tako boss fight arena.

Note that the boss is a giant octopus, and the battle arena is a small island surrounded by sea all around it. Moreover, this boss attacks fast. Therefore, proper fighting strategies are a must to complete this fight.

The Wako Tako boss fight in Astro Bot, will be divided into two phases; therefore, players must be prepared for a hard and time-consuming boss battle against this giant octopus. As soon as you land on the island and the boss appears, the first phase of the battle begins.

Both phases are almost equally tough, but Team Asobi has designed the gameplay so well, that the boss fights look colorful and simple. If you are wondering how to defeat Wako Tako in two stages, let’s check out both phases in detail.

Wako Tako First Phase Fight

As the first phase begins, players need to remember not to get too close to the enemy. Keep some distance during the fight. While parrying the punches of the boss is not an option, run throughout the battle arena to avoid the hits. Otherwise, these punches deal substantial damage if they land successfully.

The problematic part is that the boss lands the punches randomly anywhere. Fortunately, the spots where the punches will hit, get marked with orange circles before the attacks land. Therefore, watch carefully, and as soon as you find a circle nearby, jump out of the location. This is the first attack pattern Wako Tako will follow.

Another punch attack that the boss will use is to punch the island from the lower side. unlike the previous attacks, this time the boss will use his tentacles to hit the surface area upward. However, once again, the game will provide you with hints as to where the boss will hit.

At points, the boss will have its tentacles get stuck in the sand, which will allow players to hit the enemy hard. This will deal some damage to the creature. Once you deal some damage, the boss will jump over you, and during this time, he will release some small enemies that need to be taken care of before fighting the boss again.

As you avoid the punches and hit his gloves a few times, you will see the boss staying quiet for a few seconds with a scared look. Don’t waste time and pull his two tentacles using your Frog Gloves. This will help you to hit its face like a slingshot.

This will make the boss lay on the ground for a few seconds, allowing players time to hit the symbol beside his head.

Again, as the fight resumes, the boss will shoot spike balls and try to hit you with punching gloves. Run to avoid all these attacks, and try to make the boss’s punches land on the black sticky material on the ground. It will glue the tentacle to the ground, and you will get a chance to hit him.

Repeat this process a few times and again with a Froggy Gloves Slingshot attack; the first phase will end.

As the second phase begins, the boss will go into the sea and reveal platform challenges for you to overcome. Players need to cross these platforms to reach the boss. As you keep progressing, waves will continuously come, and minor enemies will be at every platform. Make sure you are sticking to the walls of the platforms so the waves don’t make you fall off the platforms.

As you reach the final platform, the boss will start shooting spike balls in the air, which will fall randomly anywhere on the platform. Observe them, or you will get massive damage.

This time, your attacks must be centered around the eyes of the boss. Unlike the previous phase, the boss won’t have his swimming goggles this time.

Whenever you get a chance, keep hitting his eyes. First attack and destroy one, and then, after avoiding a few spike balls, repeat the same thing with his second eye.

The fight is now done. All you need to do is launch a strike using your Frog Gloves and as soon as you hit the enemy, it will be thrown away, ending the boss fight.

That’s almost every detail that players need to know about how to beat Wako Tako in Astro Bot.
