How to Get All Endings

Learning how to get all endings in Capcom’s Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster can be quite the challenge considering how the game’s narrative shifts and changes depending on how you, as the player, guide Frank West along on his journey through the Willamette Parkview Mall.

There are a total of eight possible endings for Dead Rising based on specific conditions that must be met as you play through the game. You are presented with a list of survivors who made it out of the mall alive as a result of your actions every time you complete an ending.

The True Ending of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster

Diving into how to unlock each ending in the game requires that you understand the difference between two modes: the 72-Hour Mode which is the default option with which you begin your first playthrough and Overtime Mode which you can unlock by achieving Ending A in 72-Hour Mode.

While Ending A is presented as a way to complete the game, its segue into Overtime Mode might come as a surprise to most new players. It is unlocked by completing every Case in the game. Cases are main story missions and must not be confused with Scoops which cover side content in the game.

With every Case solved, you will need to speak with Isabella at 10 AM and make it to the helipad at the end of your 72-hour investigation in time for Ed to launch your rescue. While things don’t go according to plan, it is no cause for concern as the events you witness lead you directly into Overtime Mode.

The True Ending of the game, or Ending S as it’s called, requires that you defeat Brock, the leader of the Special Forces team that Frank encounters as part of the story in Overtime Mode.

Knowing some of the best skills in the game can make this fight and many others go a lot easier for Frank as you make your way through the game.

Each ending in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster comes with its own pros and cons so choose wisely!

Aside from Ending A and Ending S, every other ending in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is dependent on whether you have guided Frank toward solving all Cases and being at the helipad on time for his rescue with a few minor variations thrown in.

While tracking down every objective and Survivor in the game is something you should be looking to do as much as possible considering how much there is to discover in the game, knowing each ending’s conditions can help you plan out your actions and perhaps make your time with Capcom’s excellent remake a bit easier.

  • Ending B: Get to the helipad on time without solving every Case. Frank and any Survivors he finds in that playthrough are rescued by Ed with four possible dialogue options playing out depending on how many Survivors were rescued.
  • Ending C: Solve every case but don’t speak to Isabella at 10 AM. This ending plays out even if Frank makes it to the helipad on time as it is dependent on Frank’s conversation with Isabella.
  • Ending D: This ending requires that Frank remain a prisoner of the Special Forces when his 72 hours run out.
  • Ending E: Don’t solve every case and don’t make it to the helipad on time in order to trigger this ending. The survivors board the helicopter while Frank’s fate is left ambiguous.
  • Ending F: This plays out if Frank fails to collect every bomb during the events of Case 7-2, allowing them to explode inside the mall eviscerating everything and everyone inside.

Another possible ending for the game, Ending Z, can trigger if Frank fails to gather all of the supplies he needs for a cure in Overtime Mode. He turns into a zombie before you are returned to the main menu screen to load your most recent save.

And that’s a wrap on every ending you can achieve in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. We’d love to hear which one of them was your favorite and which one you would consider canon for the game in the comments below!
