How to Increase Carry Weight in Stalker 2

If you’re coming from a game like Fallout, in which picking up every scrap of junk and box of ammunition isn’t just a suggestion, it’s a requirement. You might quickly find yourself over carrying capacity in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. You can only carry so many items, and when every bandit drops an AK or shotgun of some type, you’re liable to pick up a little too much in the hopes of earning extra coupons. Well, here’s how to increase carry weight in Stalker 2!

How to Increase Carrying Capacity in Stalker 2

At the start of the game, you have a max carry weight of 80. It doesn’t seem like much, but you’ll find it challenging to hit max and overload yourself with junk. In time, you’ll learn to unload weapons to take ammunition, ignoring the rifle itself, and leaving behind the crusty bread that so many bandits typically carry for sustenance.

• Artifacts: Some artifacts in the game feature weight bonuses that increase your max carry weight, depending on the rarity and potency of the artifact.
• Hercules: While it’s not permanent, the Hercules strength-enhancing drug, found at merchants or elsewhere, will increase your carry weight by +20 kg for 300 seconds.
• Upgrades: You can upgrade your armor as you earn coupons to increase carrying capacity. These armor upgrades are typically the final option, though, and as such, are extremely expensive and late-game buffs.
• Armor: Speaking of armor, particular suits in the game provide an instantaneous carry capacity buff. For example, an exoskeleton often increases your carry weight max by +8 kg.

How to Expand Your Inventory Space in Stalker 2

Of course, carrying weight is one thing, but what about inventory space? I’m carrying around four AKs, two 416s, and a handful of PMs. I need more space!

Here’s the thing about the inventory space in Stalker 2: It’s not static. The inventory window expands as you add more items to your pack, allowing you to carry an infinite number of items theoretically. That said, once you hit your max carry weight, you’ll stumble through the Zone’s swamps, at risk of ambush.
