How to Turn Invisible in Baldur’s Gate 3

Turning invisible is an extremely handy tool in Baldur’s Gate 3, especially if you are in the business of stealing and looting things. No one takes kindly to their things being stolen in Baldur’s Gate 3, or anywhere else for that matter, and being invisible when doing so drastically reduces your chances of being caught. There are a few ways you can get your hands on this valuable skill, all of which we will go over here.

How to Learn Invisibility in Baldur’s Gate 3

Invisibility is a spell that can be learned naturally by using the Fetish of Callarduran Smoothhands or by using a Scroll of Invisibility.

Invisibility is a spell that can be learned by level 2 or higher Bards, Sorcerers, Warlocks, and Wizards in Baldur’s Gate 3. If you have any of the above classes on your team, Invisibility will be available to equip in the level-up menu. Once selected during level-up, the spell will be available to use at any time.

If your character isn’t any of the above classes, your invisibility dreams aren’t over yet. You can purchase a Scroll of Invisibility from two vendors in the early game in BG3. You can either pick one up from Arron at The Hollow in the Druid Grove or from Roah Moonglow at the Shattered Sanctum in the Goblin Camp.

Scrolls are a quick fix that can be used by any class, but they are single-use and will be consumed after casting. If you’re looking for a more permanent option, you can learn the spell through an enchanted item called the Fetish of Callarduran Smoothhands. This is a ring that you can loot from a corpse in Grymforge. You will get the opportunity to head to Grymforge on the way to Moonrise Towers in Act 1.

You can reach Moonrise Towers via the Mountain Pass or the Underdark. Both roads are dangerous, but if you want the ring, travel through the Underdark. Of course, you can always simply explore the Underdark and fast travel back to the surface if you don’t want to take that route. There are plenty of other intriguing things to find down there, like the Adamantine Forge, for example.

Explore the dock when you arrive in Grymforge to find two Duegar that are crudely disposing of Gnome corpses. If you pass the dice roll, you can loot the ring from one of the corpses. This ring is well worth looting if you can’t learn Invisibility yourself. If you’re not a purist, you might want to save before the interaction and reload to make sure you pass the check and can pocket this valuable artifact.

Once you have Invisibility, you will be able to cast the spell to become invisible for ten turns. If you cast another spell before ten turns are up, you will break the illusion early.
