Hugh Jackman Knocked Out Of Guiness World Record Book By Deadpool And Wolverine Co-star

Deadpool and Wolverine is making serious money at the box office and Marvel has been going hard on promotion, which makes sense it’s its only feature released this year. The movie features Hugh Jackman’s 10th time playing Wolverine, and possibly the last–for real this time. However, Jackman no longer has the Guiness World Record for the longest career as a Marvel character.

Spoiler Warning: This article contains spoilers for a cameo character who appears in Deadpool and Wolverine.

During the film, Laura Kinney (Daphne Keen) recruits other misfits from previous Marvel movies like Blade, Elektra, and the Fantastic Four with Wesley Snipes, Jennifer Garner, and Chris Evans reprising their respective roles. However, with the inclusion of Snipes, that officially makes him the new record holder of longest-running career in Marvel movie history.

Jackman first played Wolverine in 2000’s X-Men, but Snipes edges Jackman out by just two years in 1998’s Blade. Jackman had just beaten X-Men co-star Patrick Stewart with his cameo in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

Ryan Reynolds took to his Instagram to thank Snipes for joining the cast and referred to him as “Marvel Daddy.”

Along with that, Snipes also earned the record for the longest gap between character appearances in Marvel films, having gone almost two decades. The last time we saw Snipes as the character was in 2004’s Blade: Trinity.

It should be noted that Kevin Conroy is still the record holder over at DC with 32 years as Bruce Wayne/Batman as he voiced the character for a final time with the animated movie Justice League: Crisis On Infinite Earths, Part 3.
