Indiana Jones and The Great Circle Could Be Coming To PS5 Just 4 Months After Its Release On Microsoft Consoles
Xbox fans are not happy, and it’s all because of Indiana Jones and The Great Circle. The game was positioned as one of the big reasons to get a Microsoft console, and many fans were eagerly awaiting news at Gamescom.
Well, Bethesda Games did come with some new information, but it’s not what fans wanted to hear. The fact that the game is releasing by the end of the year would have been cause for celebration, if not for the follow-up information that popped the bubble of every Xbox owner.
Indiana Jones and The Great Circle Causes Massive Uproar Among Xbox Users
Exclusive games are the biggest reason people purchase a specific console. Currently, Sony has been dominating ever since the PlayStation 5 became easier to acquire.
Given that, it would make sense why many developers and studios want their titles to be on the platform. However, it’s a completely different matter when a supposed Xbox exclusive title is announced for its direct competitor almost immediately!
Gamescom 2024 was an interesting event, and despite many titles we hoped to see being a no-show, we did get a fair bit of information on various others.
One of those was the much-awaited Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, Bethesda’s first crack at making a game with the intrepid explorer. While there were some odd gameplay choices, such as the decision to go with a first-person perspective, the news was met with much approval.
Cut to the Xbox Official Podcast earlier this year, and Phil Spencer’s announcement that several exclusives would make their way onto the PS5 did not sit well with owners of the company’s hardware.
It seems their annoyance was not unwarranted, as it was revealed at Gamescom that Indy would be swinging his way onto Sony’s console after the initial release. This has led to much hilarity for those in Sony’s camp.
So you telling me Xbox players will be our beta testers and we will get the best version of the game.
Awesome lol

Based on the above tweet there might only be a four-month gap between the two launches. This would give Bethesda enough time to work through any post-launch bugs and glitches. This would mean that PlayStation would get the title in a much more refined condition than first-party hardware owners!
Phil Spencer’s Reaction to the Announcement Gets Memed

Spencer has already explained the reasoning behind bringing exclusive titles to other platforms. That’s all well and good, but it hasn’t stopped netizens from clowning on his reaction to the announcement at the event. It’s not often that the CEO gets likened to the antagonist from The Boys, but one X user felt it was the most appropriate way to describe the CEO’s reaction.
Spencer had stated during the Podcast earlier this year that the company was looking to bring exclusives to competitor platforms to allow first-party IPs to grow. This makes sense in theory, but it has also angered many fans who purchase the company’s consoles with the hope that they will have titles available only to them.
There are more titles from the company that are planned to come to the PlayStation platform, and this might not be the best decision for Xbox to make. Without exclusives, people might not see any reason to buy into the ecosystem and widen the already massive gap in hardware sales.
Do you think the company should continue to bring exclusives to PlayStation? Let us know in the comments below!
