Infinity Nikki, From Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Designer, Comes Out Next Month

Not even a month separates us from the launch of Infinity Nikki. The open-world fashion game is set to release December 5 on PC, PS5, iOS, and Android. Players will dress up in different ways to give Nikki new abilities on her adventure, which is being overseen by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game designer Kentaro Tominaga.

Infinity Nikki will be the console debut for the titular character, who’s the stylish heroine from the Love Nikki: Dress Up Queen mobile game. She will be joined by her cute buddy Momo in the upcoming open-world game. In fact, the release date trailer–seen below–appears to show Momo as a playable character in Infinity Nikki at certain points.

Now Playing: Infinity Nikki – Official Release Date Announcement Trailer

There’s definitely a chill vibe to the Infinity Nikki video, too. We see Nikki switching costumes on the fly, bike riding that segues into ET-like flying, and bug catching a la Animal Crossing. One of the different outfits for Nikki sees the heroine utilizing a magical flower to glide with the wind.

Tominaga previously spent about 20 years at Nintendo and served as a game designer on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as well as the director for that game’s expansion pass. Tominaga also worked on Mario Kart Wii and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, among other titles.

Infinity Nikki is looking wildly popular ahead of release. In August, the open-world fashion game had already surpassed 12 million pre-registrations, and on X, the official Infinity Nikki account notes that all milestones have been met. That would mean the upcoming game has more than 30 million pre-registrations.
